Center For Muslim Life

The Center for Muslim Life is home to the Muslim Life at Duke office - a.k.a. the headquarters of our Interim Muslim Chaplain, Imam Abdulhafeez Waheed, our Program Coordinator, Kiah Glenn, and our Staff Assistant, Samaiyah Faison - and is beloved to many MSA members!

Inaugurated in 2008, the facility includes a kitchen, a dining room, a library, wireless internet access and a media room with Blue Ray and cable TV, a beautiful porch overlooking a garden and plenty of space for prayer and worship. Students use the CML's space to write papers, study, hold class meetings, eat lunch, or enjoy some free time with friends. The Center for Muslim Life also provides the perfect place for student organizations to hold their regular meetings and social events. All members of the Duke community have card access to the CML until 10pm.

The CML is also home to our Interfaith Garden, where MSA has collaborated in the past with other groups to grow fresh produce and donate it to Urban Ministries!

Bus Directions to the CML:

There is a bus stop at the corner of Swift Ave. and Campus Drive (same stop as our friends at the Freeman Center). From there, the Center for Muslim Life is a short walk of about 600 feet up the hill. This bus stop is serviced by all “Campus” routes (C-1, C-2, C-3), which leave West and East campus regularly (see here).
