February 2014 Weekly Emails

Week of 2/2/14

brought to you by your duke muslim students association

4 February 2014

Assalamu Alaikum MSA!

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri  (رضى الله تعالى عنه)narrates that a person heard a man reciting Qul huwa Allahu ahad (Sura al-Ikhlas). He was repeating it again and again. In the morning he went to the Prophet  صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ and related this to him. This person considered this [repeated recitation of Surah al-ikhlas] to be insignificant. Rasullulah  صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ     therefore said: "I take an oath by that Being in whose control is my life , it certainly equals one third of the Qur'an"
